The Brammer family collection represents the eighty year love affair of First Fandom member, Fred Dennis Brammer, with science fiction. Some of his favorite authors were Robert A. Heinlein, Ray Bradbury and Jack Williamson whose publishers, Shasta, Fantasy and Gnome as well as Arkham House, put out limited, signed editions, many of which can be found in this sale. Over time he added rare earlier works including Across the Zodiac, The King in Yellow, The Lords of Misrule and the work of M.P. Shiel and Arthur Conan Doyle, now among the most highly regarded writers in their fields. The collection includes science fiction, fantasy, mystery, horror, erotica and weird science; each genre is well represented in this huge gathering of books, comics and toys. Other writers to be found include Philip K. Dick, Arthur C. Clarke, H.G. Wells, H.P. Lovecraft, and Frank Herbert; more than 4,000 comics and early pulps will also be available.
