Quinn’s Auction Galleries is pleased to present an auction of modern and contemporary prints and posters. Sale highlights include Ed Ruscha’s iconic split-fountain screenprint “Hollywood”, Andy Warhol’s silkscreen of Grace Kelly, a pencil-signed first state of Henri Matisse’s “Danseuse Debout” from the “Dix Danseuse” suite and Freidensreich Hundertwasser’s complete “Midori No Namida” portfolio. We have works from local Washington Color School artists Gene Davis, Sam Gilliam, and Hilda Thorpe; also lithographs from Alexander Calder and David Alfaro Siqueiros suites, among others.
Quinn’s will also offer more than 80 poster lots including a large selection of First and Second World War Allied propaganda posters, and from a different era we have 1960's psychedelic posters created in San Francisco by artists such as Wes Wilson, Milton Glaser, and Victor Moscoso. Travel posters and others complete the line-up.
